Studio Ghibellini is a law firm founded at the end of the 19th century by attorney Annibale Marini, the great-uncle of the firm’s current partners. The firm was originally concerned with maritime and commercial law, areas of interest for clients in the port area in Genoa.
History of the law firm
Annibale Ghibellini joined the practice in the nineteen thirties, and it was broadened and diversified with acquisition of in-depth knowledge of labour law and consulting services for enterprises, still the firm’s primary areas of concern.
During the post-war boom years the practice served companies requiring assistance with disputes, contract law and all forms of out-of-court legal services.
Alessandro Ghibellini joined the practice in the seventies, further broadening the scope of its services to include the issues typical of large-scale distribution, insurance brokerage and public administration.
The practice now also includes attorney Stefano Ghibellini and a team of young professionals, who continue to specialise in the same fields of law while also focusing on new legal entities emerging from economic and regulatory development and offering specific know-how in these newer sectors in addition to the firm’s traditional concerns.
After establishing a network of consolidated professional relationships all over Italy and abroad over the years, the law firm opened an office in Milan to ensure a permanent presence in the city to respond to the needs of its clientele and broaden the scope of its practice.
The presence in Milan has allowed the Firm to open further towards branches of evolving law, increasing its experience and expertise. It was the moment of an overall growth of the group of professionals that make up the Firm, who were able to face new and more complex issues allowing to consolidate the drive to try out new specializations proposed by the evolution of the regulatory system.
The law firm, in addition to its traditional practice areas, also through a continuing multi-year partnership with prominent American law firm, has gained an increasingly significant experience in the naval sector and maritime law; in particular the law firm is handling cases against Cruise Ship Companies and Cargo Ship Companies and is representing injured crewmembers and passengers.
The Law firm has moved its Milan headquarters to Piazza Castello.
